From the artist:
• The star of the show is the Jersey Devil - the infamous New Jersey legendary creature. It is said to have a horse like face, bat like wings, cloven hooves, a thick tail who omits a blood curdling scream!
• As the show is at the Count Basie Center for the Arts, I have depicted the Jersey Devil playing the piano and smoking a cigarette. Count Basie is well known as a pianist who smoked a lot - often photographed smoking cigarettes or cigars.
• The Raul Easter egg are the lilies to the bottom left.
• New Jersey colors - often blue and green. As NJ is known as the 'Garden State', I thought blue and green would be the basis for all color versions. I have also included a few versions with the color 'buff' which is included in the state flag.
• The tree border and lilies inspiration - again, with reference to the 'Garden State'.
• The Mavericks & Friends brand stars seen in the sky behind the window.
